Top of the World Books, LLC
Top of the World Books, LLC was established in 1989, and is a book shop that carries material about mountaineering, and the North and South poles.
“It started as an outgrowth of my personal interest in those two topics,” said Greg Glade, owner.
The shop is run out of Glade’s home, so there is no physical store front. Orders can be placed online at topworldbooks.com or over the phone at 802-482-7287 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays.
There is more information about ordering on the website. Glade travelled above the Arctic Circle in Norway at age 11, and began reading this type of literature in high school. He also climbs himself, and has been to Ecuador, Nepal, Alaska, and the Pacific Northwest. Glade says he has carried books in about 20 different languages, mostly expedition narratives. He has customers over the world, and said that participating in the Burg Bucks program could be “a way to reach out to local folks.”
Glade has also run a mountaineering book club that takes place monthly at the library for the past three years. It hasn’t met lately because of the pandemic, but Glade says he hopes to resume soon.

The pub opened in 2019, and is named after the head of a “Hinesburg buck” that hangs in the restaurant, according to the Facebook page. Because of COVID-19, the pub has limited hours. They are open on Thursday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Bucky’s is also a big game reporting station, even when the pub itself is closed.
Hunters can legally report animals outside of the pub’s hours by calling 802-578-6056. The restaurant menu and more information is available at buckyspub.com, or on the pub’s Facebook page.
Element Nail Salon
Relax with the skilled team at Element Nail Salon, which offers manicures and pedicures of course, but also waxing, facials and massages. The shop is putting the safety of their clients first, with plexiglass barriers and plenty of space to provide for social distancing. Element’s salon is exceeding the state requirements for close contact businesses, Stuart and Michelle Deliduka said.
“Even though the business climate is more challenging than a year ago, we’re confident that our extra efforts and policies and procedures allow us to be able to provide nail services safely,” said Stuart and Michelle Deliduka. “We all have to work together. Businesses, customers and communities.”
The shop stays at or below the new fire capacity rating, and new policies and procedures eliminate customers’ need to touch things like nail polish. Customers are encouraged to call to make an appointment, and seniors and clients with underlying health conditions can call and request private appointments.
