The Burg Buck give out on Sunday was a big success according to outgoing town administrator Renae Marshall.
Volunteers handed out 800 $10 Burg Buck coupons to more than 350 Hinesburg families, Marshall said. In total $8,000 was distributed in the form of the Burg Buck coupons that can be used at any of the following 18 businesses.
“This program is about investing in Hinesburg’s downtown” Economic Committee chair Melissa Levy, who joined Marshall at the Sunday give away. “It is exciting to see how many families and businesses have come forward.”
Ginny Koucher, owner of Blue Cottage in Hinesburg told a reporter from WCAX. “It helps bring in new customers, which is great. Any awareness you can get, they come in, they spend their money, they get to know the store. So, it’s been very good.”
Burg Bucks can be spent up until November 15 – one per purchase – at any of the following businesses.
