On Wednesday, July 10th, lightning zig-zagged across the sky, window-rattling thunder boomed, and buckets of rain fell from the sky…Parker J. Palmer wrote, “There are summers when floods or drought destroy the crops and threaten the lives and livelihood of those who work the fields.” It certainly seems as if this can be categorized as one of those summers. The Courage Circle I was hosting at the Carpenter-Carse library was a literal wash out last month, like many of the roads and driveways in our town! So, this next Courage & Renewal offering on Wednesday, August 14th from 7:30-9:30PM, will be a blending of “The Paradox of Summer” and “Being Present – Walking Meditations.” I invite you to create space in your busy summer schedules to experience yourself and fellow community members in a new way by joining me as I guide you to support the mission of The Center for Courage & Renewal which “exists to nurture deep integrity and relational trust, building the foundation for a more loving, healthy, and equitable world.” The group explores poems, essays, and nature, along with practicing speaking and listening, to understand more deeply our inner and collective wisdom.
